Sorry I haven't posted much since I moved to Atlanta in mid-May but I've been very busy. Pretty much every week I've been working in Huntsville, AL. Moving to Atlanta

I'm finally getting a chance to talk about my move to Atlanta last week. The original plan was to have my furniture in storage on Monday, pack up the car and clean the apartment on Tuesday and hit the road Wednesday morning. That all went out the window due to my own procrastination and lack of finding someone to help me move my furniture. I finally found a friend to help me on Wednesday. But by the time I got finished moving furniture, packing the car and cleaning it was Wednesday evening.

I finally hit the road at 8:30pm. After 4 hours of driving I stopped for the night in Bakersfield, CA. My goal for Thursday was to make it Albuquerque, NM. I forgot how desolate the Mojave Desert can be! It was very boring till I started climbing in elevation on the way to Flagstaff, AZ. Then the scenery was much more interesting. I made it to Albuquerque in 11 hours. It was a long day but wasn't bad. My goal for Friday was a big one, Little Rock, AR. This was going to be a very long day. I was expecting the scenery to be pretty boring through Texas and Oklahoma but it wasn't bad. It ended up taking me 13 hours but I made it. That left me with what I thought would take about 8 hours to get to Atlanta on Saturday. Part way through the drive to Atlanta I got a call from my new roommate Ken (ufcub). He was heading off to a friend's pool party and when I told him where I was he invited me along. Needless to say it didn't take 8 hours to get to Atlanta that day. The thought of furry muscled men in bathing suits saved me an hour!

So all in all the trip wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! And there were several memorable things along the way. The 1st was eating at a Cracker Barrel in Gallup, NM. This afternoon I got the official OK from work to temporarily move to Atlanta! I've been traveling to Huntsville, AL a lot for work this year. I've spent 7 of the last 11 weeks there. I'm tired of being away from home so much! So I decided it would be much easier if I was living closer to, but not in, Huntsville. Atlanta came to mind. When I'm in Sunnyvale I work from home anyway so it doesn't really matter where I live. The move will happen mid-May. I'm putting most of my stuff in storage here and just taking the essentials (sling, toys, etc.) with me. I'll probably be in Atlanta till the end of the project I'm working on which should be 4-5 months. When I move back to the bay area hopefully I'll be able to live in SF.

But the best part of this move will be the person I'm renting a room from. Thank you Ken ufcub for letting me stay at your place! I really appreciate this. You are a true friend!!!

This weekend was the San Jose Tattoo Convention. I went yesterday afternoon. I had a 5:30 appointment with Klem to finish my right sleeve. We just had the tail feathers of the phoenix to finish.
